4 months old

Jack had his 4 month check-up yesterday, and he is doing great! He weighs 13 pounds 14 1/2 oz, so he hasn't even gained a pound since his last visit. He has gone down from the 50th percentile to the 25th percentile in weight, but the doctor said that was normal. He is 26 5/8 inches though! In the 95th percentile in height and that means he grew 2 inches since the last visit. Not much else has happened since the last time I wrote in last week. He's still doing the same things, rolling over and reaching for toys but he is just getting better at it now! We are ready for Christmas though! He is definitely going to have the most presents this year...I went a little overboard! I am putting up the pictures we got done last weekend for Christmas. Merry Christmas month!

Big day!

Well, today was an exciting day! Jack rolled over! I know he has rolled over before, but today actually counts! When he rolled over whenever he was only a few weeks old I don't think he meant it. Nick says that whenever he rolled over a few weeks ago it was because I was sitting on the couch next to Jack so that doesn't count either! Today counted though! I just wanted everyone to know that my boy is rolling over! I've got a couple of new pictures to post and there is one of him right after he rolled over!
In other news...Jack is sleeping through the night! He started last week and he has been sleeping anywhere from 8 to 12 hours. He may wake up a couple times throughout the night, but we just pop the paci back in his month and he goes right back to sleep. He also has been grabbing for toys and actually hanging on to them now, but once he has them in his hand he isn't quite sure what to do next.
We are having family Christmas photos taken this weekend so I will post those sometime next week, and next Monday is his 4 month well baby check-up so I will post more information then!

3 months old

I am sorry that I haven't posted anything in so long, but with being in Florida and trying to get in a normal routine again now that we are back home...well I just now have the time! Last week I took Jack to his 2 month well-baby check-up even though he was almost 3 months! He is 13.1 pounds and 24 3/4 inches! The doctor said that everything looked great, and he is on the right track. He is growing so fast it is hard to keep up with everything he is doing. Something I am excited about is that he is starting to really laugh now. He started this past weekend when I was blowing on his belly, then the next day he laughed at Nick, and then the same day he laughed at our dog. We have been trying our hardest to record it, but he is not cooperating. He has also started to try and grab at toys too, and so I guess that is a cue for us to buy new toys soon! Well, that is all for now, but I will post some new pictures as well.

Cutest baby in the world

1 month old

Well, Friday was Jack's one month birthday! He went in to the doctor on Thursday and he was about 9 1/2 pounds and 22 inches! He is growing so fast. Yesterday he smiled at Nick for the 1st time and he has been "talking" more and more lately. He still sleeps a bunch, but that is okay with us. We still need as much sleep as possible too!Well, whenever I get the batteries to the camera charged up I will post some more pictures. Also, there is a place on this blog where I can post videos, and so I will do that as soon as I figure it out!

Smile

Well, since Jack has been born he has been smiling in his sleep all the time, but the other day was the 1st time he smiled while he was awake! I want to say it was this past Wednesday, and even though he was smiling at the towels that were laying on the other end of the couch-it was the cutest thing ever! Then on Wednesday night Nick and I had him on his stomach for "tummy time" and he rolled right over onto his back! I know he probably did not mean to do it, but I still feel the need to brag. The day after his 1st smile and 1st roll he smiled at me whenever he was awake, and I have to say it was cuter when he smiled at me than when he was smiling at those towels. He is doing well though. He is starting to have longer periods of being awake too. He is doing okay at night-still giving me about 2 1/2-3 hours of sleep at a time and I am actually getting use to it! (Not saying I like it, but at least I am not a complete zombie all day!) I do look forward to the day when we can all sleep through the night again, but until then there is always late night TV!
